Handhabung

Das Packmaß ist im Vergleich zu anderen Stand Up Paddel
Boards sehr klein und passt in jedes Auto, notfalls auch auf ein Motorrad.
Das Aufblasen dauert ca. 5min und geht ziemlich rasch,
die mitgelieferte Pumpe hat einen Druckanzeiger den man anschließen kann.
Der Luftdruck im Brett sollte mindestens 12PSI sein für maximale Tragkraft.
Die Pumpe ist umschaltbar von Doppelhub auf Einfachhub,
das ist wichtig um wirklich Druck zusammenzubringen.
Die integrierten Plastikfinnen sind OK, geben gut Stabilisation und Spurtreue,
verbiegen sich aber ein bisschen, was aber nicht weiter stört.

Der Shaper meinte zum Thema Pumpen:
“You have to pump as much as you can get in, and then a little more”

Nach dem Paddeln dauert es nur ca. 2 bis 3 min um die Luft auszulassen.
Um die Luft rauszubringen, muss man das Brett von hinten her zusammenlegen
und dann nochmals öffnen und von vorne zusammenlegen, dass die Finnen sich nicht verbiegen.
Die mitgelieferte Tasche ist gut, aber um ein Eck zu klein fürs Board.

Das Custard Point 10’6“ hat relativ wenig Volumen und ist am See
und Fluss besser für leichtere Personen geeignet bis ca. 75 Kilo.
Für Kinder ist das Brett sehr gut geeignet und wendig.
Ein Paddler mit 80 Kilo steht jedoch in der Mitte leicht im Wasser,
mit der Geschwindigkeitsaufnahme kommt das Brett dann aber ein bisschen aus dem Wasser.
Nach hinten und vorne gehen ist vom Gefühl ganz anders wie bei normalen
Stand Up Paddel Bretten: Das Brett biegt sich durch und flext sehr stark.

Das Stand Up Paddel Brett ist mit Luft gefüllt und das merkt man auch.
Man hat beim Draufstehen ein schwammiges Gefühl,
was aber vor allem im welligen Wasser Vorteile haben.
Das Custard Point 10’6“ hat relativ wenig Volumen und ist am See
und Fluss besser für leichtere Personen geeignet bis ca. 75 Kilo.
Für Kinder ist das Brett sehr gut geeignet und wendig.
Ein Paddler mit 80 Kilo steht jedoch in der Mitte leicht im Wasser,
mit der Geschwindigkeitsaufnahme kommt das Brett dann aber ein bisschen aus dem Wasser.
Nach hinten und vorne gehen ist vom Gefühl ganz anders wie bei normalen
Stand Up Paddel Bretten: Das Brett biegt sich durch und flext sehr stark.

Einsatzbereich

Speziell im Wildwasser spielt das Brett seine Vorteile aus.
Seichter Untergrund und Steine können dem Brett nicht viel anhaben.
Auch kleinere Abfälle können problemlos gemeistert werden.

Haltbarkeit

Die Standfläche (Pad) ist nicht Weltklasse, aber im Preis-Leistungsverhältnis OK.
Teilweise löste sich der Pad etwas ab, Kleber ist aber in der Lieferung mit inbegriffen.
Runde, nicht zu spitze Steine, haben dem Brett nicht an.
Das Stand Up Paddel Brett ist für Wildwasser gut geeignet und neben
Plastik und PU sicher die Zukunft im Wildwasser-SUP.

Tragkomfort

Das Brett kann man am besten über Kopf tragen da es keinen Griff hat.
Das Brett ist um einiges leichter als Bretter in klassischer Bauweise,
deshalb ist es am bequemsten das Brett über dem Kopf zu tragen.

Fazit

Das Stand Up Paddel Brett von Custard Point ist eine gute Alternative zu den
herkömmlichen Bretten dank dem geringem Packmaß.
Das Brett ist mit seinen 10’6“ und geringem Volumen eher klein und für Erwachsene
und an Seen und Flüssen nur bedingt geeignet, dafür um so besser für Kinder
da man das Brett nur sehr schwer kaputt machen kann.
